Meet Anila Aunty - The Soul of Ghar no Swad

Before she became the heart of Indore’s favourite food outlet, Anila Aunty was simply a mother who loved cooking for her family. Born and married into a Gujarati household, food was always her language of love — from the perfect masala balance in her Theplas to the buttery softness of her Vada Pav. For years, she poured all her time into raising her children and running her home, quietly shelving her own dreams of starting something of her own.

But dreams have no expiry date. In her 50s, with her kids all grown up, Anila Aunty decided to finally chase her long-held dream. She spent years learning the food business from scratch — understanding customer taste, maintaining hygiene, managing operations — and slowly turned her kitchen wisdom into a full-fledged food venture. Today, whether she’s serving college students or packing snacks with a smile, she brings the same warmth that once filled her home — and now fills thousands of hearts across Indore.

At the heart of Ghar no Swad by Anila Aunty lies a simple idea — food made with love, just like at home. What began in 2018 as PK Vada Pav and Dabeli quickly won Indore’s heart with its authentic taste and warmth.

Customers didn’t just return for the food — they returned for the feeling. Their reviews spoke of nostalgia, purity, and maa ke haath ka swad.

Encouraged by this love, the brand took on a new identity that reflected its soul. Thus was born Ghar no Swad — a name that honours its roots and celebrates Anila Aunty’s journey.

Our Journey

How 'Ghar no Swad' was born?

Ghar no Swad by Anila Aunty was born from the overwhelming love that customers showered on a humble food outlet once known as PK Vada Pav and Dabeli.

What started as a passion project by Anila Aunty — a homemaker turned entrepreneur — quickly became a local favourite for its authentic flavours, unmatched hygiene, and the unmistakable warmth of home-style food.

Customer after customer praised the “asli Gujarati taste,” comparing it to their childhood memories and even their own mothers’ cooking. One said, “Nobody delivers that real Gujarati Dabeli taste — but you did.” That moment of recognition planted the seed for something bigger.

Inspired by such feedback, the brand took its next leap — embracing not just the food, but the feeling behind it.

And so, Ghar no Swad by Anila Aunty was born: a name that carries tradition, celebrates her journey, and promises food that feels like home — every single time.
